Start a Movie production "company" that helps make and distribute short stories, documentaries, feature films, etc. about the EVE Online universe.
Promoting EVE Online
Make it easier to create and share videos and photos in game. You could even have that you record a hole event like Starcraft so you could go back see it from different angles afterwards. @torfiFrans and @ktouborg knows what I'm talking about.
EvE has been around a long time and many people have done a trial and then left.
EvE's new player experiance is much much better and getting these people to give it another shot would be great.
A re-trial for acounts that have under x amount of skill points may get them back in. Many are reluctant to start over and getting to use there old trial acount character may help.
Ok, I understand that it costs money to keep this thing going, especially to pay employees, but at $15 or so per month, you're raking in a lot of profit. Why not, after a set period of having an account paid up, send the player a free shirt with the EVE logo on it? Just for example, what about 6 months. That's a point where players are obviously showing that they have more than a passing interest in the game, and are ...more »
As Soon as Dust514 gets broad attention in the media, we as EVE players have the best opportunity to invide players to eve. I just think that advertising or promoting a game just by nice pictures or highly confusing video materials with massiv amounts or ships and drones is rather difficult. But dust gives the possibility to show people the living universe of eve, Which I think is the most important part of eve. Sry ...more »
Hire a small team to create a CGI short film, one that is well written and has good production values. I love the EVE trailers, and the videos on youtube. The only problem with them is that they are too short. Make it good, make it longer than two minutes, and hope that it gets awards, or goes viral. Make EVE online a more recognizable brand.
On LiveJournal there is a photo group which challenges people to produce a photo based on a certain theme each week.
A competition is held, with the "winner" being selected by the professional photographer. No prizes, just recognition.
Many players have done a trial, failed to join a corp and left because they attempted to solo the learning cliff. Having the newbie corp run some ops might be fun. One every thursday say they run level 3's as a group, or go hunting sleeprs in belts as a group....Somethign as a group. The op would be posted in the corp messege of the day and clicking the link puts you in fleet and you fly to where it is. For this all ...more »
Instead of running a one off free month as a reward for referring people, why not have a recurring commission payment which rewards people for referring longer term more committed players. This could be based on a percentage of their monthly payment, so the initial reward for signup should still be a free month but then leading on from that referrers should be given a kick back from the fees paid, either in real money ...more »
Main argument I come across about EVE is that it cost $$$ to play, but even telling them that they can pay with ISK to play the game does not get them over the hurdle to pay the first month. I have payed for my friends accounts to get them to play in the past but it requires for them to give me their log in information. There should be an easier way (other than PLEX) to pay for the first or first 3 months for your friends ...more »
Be able to add skills to friends trail account through inside of the client.
Suggest skill Q path that new player could see on the side when adding skills
Second up side (or could be a downside) you would not have to log in with your alt account to add skills....
Set yourself a goal each week: your goal might be to try something from St Mio's "What to do in EVE Online" that you haven't tried yet.
If you enjoyed it, tell your friends about it.
